4th of July Fireworks This Weekend!!!
You only have TWO DAYS left to secure your VIP package!

As we have for over two decades, the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce will coordinate, fund, and host the annual Siesta Key fireworks celebration.

With no direct taxpayer funding used to continue this local tradition, we do offer a limited number of VIP packages to help bring the celebration to the Key.

Each VIP package includes:

·    Convenient reserved on-site parking at Siesta Beach
·    On-site gourmet picnic dinner for two
·    Beer, wine and soft drinks
·    Live musical entertainment
·    Preferred viewing area for the spectacular 20-minute fireworks
·    Acknowledgement in event advertising and on-site signage.

Following the celebration, in order to expedite transit from the beach area, Sarasota County Sheriff's Deputies will designate the center lane on Midnight Pass Road as a southbound lane to increase the flow of traffic off the Key.

For complete details and registration information click here, or telephone us at 941.349.3800.

"Vote No on 4" Campaign Launches New Site

Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy launched a new website to complement its campaign against Amendment 4.  To date, more than 280 labor, civic, business, planning, and environmental groups oppose Amendment 4.

Florida voters will see Amendment 4, which proposes to require voter approval of all changes to local comprehensive land-use plans, on the ballot this November.  The new website notes that, "a recent study by Tony Villamil of the Washington Economic Group, indicates that Amendment 4 would result in $4 billion of lost state and local tax revenue due to forgone economic development projects".

To go to the site click here.

Deepwater Horizon Lost Business

Dr. Walter Klages of Research Data Services of Tampa needs to collect lost business information from all Sarasota County lodging businesses for the month of May.  To submit information on accommodation cancellations related to the oil spill, click here.

Also, if you have filed a claim with BP for oil spill-related losses, please report your experience to us.  If you do file a claim, indicate that you reserve the right to increase the amount of your claim, even if the form doesn't accommodate it.

Contact Kevin at 941.349.3800 or kevin@siestakeychamber.com to share your story.
