The Spring Chamber membership drive, the Siesta Spring Stimulus is in full swing!  Help your Chamber grow, and win big prizes!

For each new member that you sponsor between now and March 31, you'll receive one chance in a drawing for a luxurious mini-vacation.  The prize includes:

Annual Meeting Wrap-up
 
The Siesta Key Chamber held its Annual Meeting and Business Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, January 27 at the Gulf & Bay Club.  A delicious breakfast was catered by The Broken Egg.  To download the 2009 Annual Report and Awards Breakfast Agenda, click here.  The following award winners were announced and recognized:

New Driver's License Renewal ID Requirements
 
Sarasota County Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates reports that anyone renewing or obtaining a new driver's license or identification card is required to show specific documents as proof of identity, social security number and residence.  These changes are being implemented by the State of Florida to be in compliance with the federal Real ID Act.  Recently, as many as 50% of those attempting to renew their drivers' license have been turned away for lack of proper ID.  For details, click here.
Humane Society plans "Weekend of Love"
 
The Humane Society and Animal Services of Sarasota County will have its first adoption event on Siesta Key. The event will coincide with Valentine's Day, called the "Weekend of Love" on the Key. It will take place Saturday, February 13th, 2010 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in front of Siesta Key Hardware & Garden, 215 Canal Road.

Adorable cats and dogs will arrive by the Humane Society's mobile van, and will be ready to be adopted by a loving person.  With each adoption, a beautiful Valentine's rose will be given.  A smooch a pooch booth, pet therapy teams and animal-themed artwork for sale will be there too!

SKVA Announces Valentine Stroll
 
The Siesta Key Village Association will host the annual Siesta Key Village Association Valentine Stroll on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.  Residents and visitors are invited to stroll through Siesta Village, which will be adorned with Valentine cheer.  There will be something for everyone i
ncluding live music throughout the Village, and candy kisses will be distributed by the merchants.  Flowers will also be available for purchase outside of the Daiquiri Deck.  Participating merchants will display red and pink balloons outside of their businesses. Free Trolley service between the Siesta Beach parking lot and the Village will be provided from 5:30 to 9:30 PM compliments of Siesta Island Trolley and the Daiquiri Deck.  For more information, visit www.siestakeyvillage.org, phone Helene Hyland at 941-685-2274 or e-mail sanddollarassoc@aol.com.
